The Imitation Game
In our last blog, we looked at the danger of the “empty house” from Matthew 12. The principle is simple: freedom without Christ doesn’t last. It creates a vacuum where deception rushes back in.
Today we’re diving deeper into how New Age healing practices imitate freedom but can never deliver lasting peace. From Reiki to frequency healing, meditation to mediumship, these practices are not neutral. They are counterfeits that imitate the real work of God’s Spirit.
The tone here is not condemnation but clarity. My heart is for gentle yet bold evangelism — calling out the lies while pointing to the Truth.
New Age Practices as Counterfeit Deliverance

The allure of New Age healing lies in its imitation. It offers something that feels spiritual and freeing, but without Christ it only leads to deeper bondage.
Let’s look at a few examples:
Reiki — Marketed as clearing energy blockages, Reiki is really an invitation for familiar spirits to interact with your body and soul.
Frequency Healing — Promises to “retune” your body with vibrations, yet it substitutes sound waves for God’s Word — the only true living frequency (Hebrews 4:12).
Meditation / Emptying Practices — Encourage mental silence, but without filling the mind with God’s truth, the “house” is swept clean and left wide open for deception.
Channeling & Mediumship — Mimic prophecy and spiritual guidance, but the source is not the Holy Spirit. Scripture makes it clear: these voices come from deceptive spirits.
Each one mimics something real in God’s Kingdom:
Healing
Freedom
Peace
Guidance
But they all detach those promises from the only One who can actually provide them.
Fascia Connection: False Release vs. True Healing
If you’ve experienced fascia work, you know the difference between a quick surface release and lasting integration. Some techniques can feel good for the moment — a sudden stretch, a quick release — but without consistent work and integration, the tension comes right back.
That’s exactly what counterfeit healing is like. Reiki, crystals, or frequency therapy may give a fleeting sense of release. But the root bondage remains.
Lasting freedom requires integration — and spiritually, only Christ brings that integration. He doesn’t just release you from the surface symptoms; He heals at the root and fills you with His Spirit so the freedom holds.
Biblical Warning Against Counterfeits
God has always warned His people about counterfeit wells.
Jeremiah 2:13 (KJV): “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.”
New Age wells may look promising, but they are cracked. They leave you thirstier than before.
Matthew 7:15–16 (KJV): “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits.”
Counterfeit healing looks harmless — even compassionate. But its fruit is spiritual bondage, not freedom.
Satan does not appear with horns and fire. He appears with light, gentleness, and promises of healing (2 Corinthians 11:14). That’s why discernment matters so deeply.
Evangelism to New Age Listeners
Friend, if you’ve been drawn into these practices, I want to speak gently but directly to you.
You may feel lighter after a Reiki session. You may feel calmer after emptying meditation. You may feel more in control after tarot or channeling. But if you’re honest, the relief doesn’t last.
Why? Because you’re sweeping the house without letting the true Owner move in. Jesus doesn’t just clear space — He dwells in you.
Only the Holy Spirit can seal healing so it cannot be stolen or counterfeited. Without Him, every practice is just another empty cistern.
Reflection & Application
Ask yourself:
Am I pursuing quick relief or lasting freedom?
Have I unknowingly replaced God’s truth with a spiritual counterfeit?
Faith Practice
Read John 14:26–27. Jesus promises the Holy Spirit as our Comforter. He is not a temporary “energy release” — He is eternal peace.
Pray:
“Lord, fill every space in me with Your Spirit. Close every door I’ve opened to deception. Teach me to rest in You.”
Body Practice
After a fascial release, focus on a breath prayer:
“Jesus, You are my peace.”
Train your body to recognize peace not as simple relaxation but as Christ’s presence within you.
Closing
God doesn’t just want to release you — He wants to dwell with you.
Psalm 16:11 (KJV) says, “In thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” That’s not temporary. That’s eternal.
If you’ve been chasing healing in practices that leave you empty — Reiki, crystals, frequency healing, meditation, or anything else — I want you to know there is a greater way.
John 14:6 (KJV) declares: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Jesus Christ came into this world, lived without sin, died on the cross for your sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day. He defeated death and offers eternal life to all who believe in Him.
When you place your trust in Him — not in empty practices, not in your own strength, but in His finished work — He forgives you, makes you new, and fills you with His Spirit so you will never be empty again.
If you feel Him tugging on your heart right now, you can call out to Him in prayer — not a ritual, not magic words, but simply from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I know I’ve been searching for peace and healing in places apart from You. I confess that I am a sinner and I need You. I believe that You died for me, were buried, and rose again. I yield my life to You. Fill me with Your Spirit and make me new.”
Romans 10:13 (KJV) promises: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Now take the next steps: get into God’s Word, connect with Bible-believing community, and keep walking in the freedom that only Christ gives.
